May 08, 2007 -- (Trenton, NJ) -- Last week, at the Chemistry Council of New Jersey's (CCNJ) 23rd Annual Spring Conference, the Council honored Kuehne Chemical Company with the 12th Annual Chairman’s Award.
The Chairman's Award recognizes a CCNJ member facility that demonstrates excellence and commitment to community, customer, shareholder and employee expectations in the areas of security, safety, health and environmental performance. As well, it recognizes a company that has worked to support and build upon the positive image of the industry.

"Kuehne is recognized for making safety, security and environmental matters a high priority in their daily operations," said Hal Bozarth, executive director of the CCNJ, "they have donated security and patrol boat equipment to the local police department and invested heavily to enhance security at their site and implemented state of the art safety measures. There is no question that Kuehne takes seriously their role as a corporate citizen and is an example to other company members for their leadership in many areas, in particular chemical plant security."
The 2007 honoree joins a growing list of distinguished corporate performers that includes DOW Chemical, Oxyvinyls, Infineum, Astaris, Sybron Chemicals, Exxon, ICI, Hatco, Akzo Nobel, Merck, Hunstman Polyurethane and last year's winner Valero Refining-NJ.
